You will not be bored when you visit The Mad Moose. No matter what season you choose, there is a lot to do here. In addition to our most popular activities below, many of our guests enjoy taking walks along the lake coast, hiking up to "The Point" for a breath taking sunset view, or settling down with a good book.


Ice Climbing
Montreal River boasts some of the steepest and longest ice in the midwest! There is unmeasureable potential for mixed climbing here!

Snow Shoeing
Access steeper and more rugged terrain than available on skis. Snowshoe approach to the ice climbs. Whether you are a spectator or participant, don't forget your camera for great photo opportunities.

Rock Climbing

Kayaking
